That's how many days it's been since Rodney and I said "I do".

I consider every single one of those days to be a small victory in loving life and loving each other, and the sum of those victories is one monumental accomplishment.  Those of you who are married know how difficult and trying it can be at times, but you also know the sweet reward of sharing your life with somebody who knows you so completely.

It translates to seven years, which makes me feel all of a sudden, very old.  It's amazing though, because I'm not.  We were talking earlier today about what our wedding day was like, and interestingly enough, there are very few things I remember in great detail.  For example, it was about 5 in the afternoon when we talked, and we were trying to remember what we were doing at that time on our wedding day.  I'm sure I was getting close to ready, the ceremony was at 7... but I honestly don't remember for sure.  The schedule that we stuck to so rigidly that day is now gone.

I guess my point is that we worry so much over those tiny details, and then they turn out to be insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  What's more important is the commitment that we made to one another, and the where-with-all to see it through.  Our journey is just beginning, we know that, but we are certainly very proud of the relationship we have grown,

Here are a few things you may not know about us as a couple, just for fun.

1.  We DVR every single episode of Desperate Housewives, the Unit, the Mentalist, and NCIS.  If he happens to be gone on the day they air, I always wait for him to come home to watch them.  It's sort of a silly thing, but it's time I can count on!

2. When we go out to eat, we almost always go to Logan's.  He loves his steaks, and I can eat just about anything on their menu and be happy.

3.  We have big plans to travel the world together someday.

4.  We never spend more than $100.00 without consulting the other person.

5.  He drinks Cherry Limeades and I drink Cranberry Limeades at Sonic.  :)

6.  We can't go very far out west without stopping at Allsups for those deep fried bean burritos... tragic, I know... but it's tradition.

7.  We met in Slaton, Tx in front of an old oak tree.  It's a long story, but if you want to hear it, I'll tell ya!

8.  His younger sister, Tricia, was in first or second grade with my brother, Zach.  We were fascinated with her because she had just moved over from Australia.  The first time Rodney came to my house, my dad came in and my introduction went something like this "Daddy, do you know who this is?"  Of course I was referring to the fact that he was Tricia's older brother... but my dad tells the story and says that his heart leapt within him.  He said he knew then and there that this boy would be very special in our lives.

9.  We wanted to honeymoon in Mexico, but Rodney was not a citizen of the U.S. at the time!  So, we honeymooned in Orlando instead, and it was great, of course!

10.  When we first married I was working as a unit secretary in the Antepartum Unit in Lubbock, and Rodney was working as the RDA delivery boy.  Soon after, he also started working at the Hampton Inn in Lubbock.

I am so honored to be his wife, he is really a precious gift.  Here's to the next 365 days, let's see what they bring.

P.S. Refer to last year's anniversary blog for pictures of our wedding day!

What a sweet little blog about your lives together! Congratulations on another wonderful anniversary! :)

About Houston, I would LOVE to be your tour guide but we're quite a bit south of Spring. We're off of 45 but much farther south in Clear Lake City. A good hour to hour and a half drive...without traffic of course! :) If you're down here though be sure to let me know...we could meet in the middle. Good luck house hunting!
