I didn't believe this myself, but BELIEVE me... it is worth a try! So easy, a man remembered the recipe!
Ingredients:
4 cans of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 Graham Cracker Pie Crusts
Whip Cream
Chocolate Chips
ALL you do is: Take your four cans of Eagle Brand and place them in a large stock pot. Wrap kitchen towels around the cans so that they don't bump into one another. Leave the cans closed. Boil for 4 hours.
After 4 hours, remove the cans from the stock pot and pour out mixture. The boiling causes the mixture to caramelize. Stir up the contents of the can to remove lumps and inconsistencies.
Pour into the two graham cracker pie crusts. Top with whip cream and chocolate chips. Chill before serving.
This makes an absolutely delicious caramel pie. I tried it myself! So good, so easy! My kind of cooking.
Some variations we discussed:
1. Use the Jello No-Bake cheesecake filing in the bottom of the pie crust, top with the caramel mixture.
2. Put melted chocolate in the bottom of the pie crust.
3. And of course, serve with ice cream.
