So, I have officially claimed another corner in cyberspace. I am a facebooker, a myspacer, an ebayer, and now a blogspotter. I was telling my dad just yesterday that I remember being in computer class in middle school and watching a video about the 'Information Superhighway'. I think that when we all finished the video we were just confused! The hosts were two teenagers in a crazy looking car that was obviously green-screened onto a fast moving highway. They talked about all the wonderous things that would be available to us via the internet. I could not fathom it. And, now, well over 10 years later... I am posting my very own brain drippings to a place for you all to ready, enjoy, etc. What an amazing concept. Why, why, am I doing this you ask? Well, probably because I am expecting my pilot husband home in about 45 minutes and if I don't do SOMETHING I will fall asleep. I thought this would be an excellent way to spew my thoughts and only the people who really cared wouldread them. So, let me tell you about my weekend. You will be oh so excited. No, actually, let me tell you about my week. Last weekend Rodney and I ventured out to Lubbock to help his mother and his grandmother move into new houses. His mom and stepdad just built a beautiful new house but the move in is slow-going due to his stepdad's chemotherapy and recovery from surgery. So, we decided we could help by going out there and doing our part there and then bringing home three of their small children. You see, his parents are foster parents and have adopted three little girls. Lexi is 11 and Zaey and Zoey are both 4. I thought that the best and most helpful thing would be to get them out of their hair for a little while so they could get some stuff done in the house. I must be a really nice daughter-in-law. The girls were pretty good. Aside from the typical little spat here and there, and an attitude problem from Zaey, we had success. We took them halfway to Lubbock on Thursday. Rodney left at 4 in the morning to go to work on Friday, and then the kids and I, along with my parents, Taylor, Hunter, and Scout went to the farm in Graham for the fourth. There we met up with lots of extended Balch family at tmy uncle Jim's lake house and had really great time. We swam in some very merky lake water, ate lots of very yummy food, and enjoyed the fun and fellowship of family. And, of course, everybody thought my kids were the life of the party! So, it has been very busy around here, not to mention the bathroom model in progress... But, I am loving my summer vacation. All the while wondering how next year will go and thinking of ways I will do things differently or better. I must be a dork. Well, enough for now. My musings are turning into ramblings, so I will spare you the rest... for now.
